The Best Public-Access Golf Course in Western New York State

Our par-72, 18-hole course is a scenic and tranquil escape winding through the woods with several elevation changes. There are a few tight holes while most are fairly open. While the course is fair, the seriously wayward golfer will visit the woods often.

Par the final three holes at Hickory Ridge and you will leave the course with a smile on your face.

Honoring Heroes Golf Tournament

7th Annual
Honoring Heroes Golf Tournament
to benefit
The New York Warrior Alliance
Home of Operation Wounded Warrior
In Memory of Mac McNeil
Heroes come from the souls of the humble. The
very definition of a hero is a person who is admired or
idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or
noble qualities. Heroes walk amongst us every day.
Such was the case of Mac McNeil. Mac passed away
Oct. 17, 2017 from cancer. The disease came quickly
but his faith, friends and family allowed him to enjoy a
quality of life filled with purpose, joy and
determination until his last breath.
Mac had a passion for helping vets and honoring those
who bravely fought for our freedom. He became involved
in this golf tournament by contacting businesses for
monetary donations and gifts for raffles. He sat in front
of businesses collecting donations, sometimes from 10
a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. One
donation in particular was dear to Mac’s heart. A young
boy walking out of a store hung back a little, looked at
Mac and timidly put his penny in the jar. That penny
meant everything to that young boy as it did to Mac.
Through the efforts of Cindy and Kevin (owners of
Hickory Ridge) Mac and many volunteers $100,000 has
been raised for wounded warriors over the years. That is
a truly remarkable achievement.
After Mac’s passing the continuation of the
tournament seemed in doubt as there was no one willing
to step up to organize the event. Fortunately, a group of
Mac’s family and friends still see the need
for our warriors to receive care and the tournament
will go on again this year, taking place at Hickory Ridge
Golf Course on Sept. 16. Not only will it be a chance to
honor those warriors who have given much for us, but to
honor a special man, Mac McNeil, who gave so much of
his heart and soul over the years with blessings for the
wounded warriors. His family and friends are carrying
on his legacy and to honor his memory for humbly
helping the wounded warriors.
We hope you will join us in raising funds in Mac’s
name and memory. We ask you consider a donation
and or a gift to be used as a door prize and auction. No
amount too small and as Mac would say, no amount
too big either. Also, if you would like to sponsor part of
the tournament or play either as a single entrant or a
foursome, or to sponsor a hole please call Hickory Ridge
at 585-638-4653 or call one of the event organizers at
We appreciate your kind and generous donation. On
behalf of Mac’s family, friends and the wounded warriors
we thank you
